Happy Birthday to Jacob!

Nathanael is nearly 1/2 a year old so that must make Jacob 9!!! Can you honestly believe it!??? Where does the time go? Jacob has been such a blessing to our family! He just loves his little brother and helps out in so many ways. We were so happy to celebrate another year with him and we thank God for our children everyday. We decided to go easy this year and we took him out on his real birthday...Wednesday January 21st to see BOLT at the theatre (AWESOME MOVIE!) then to Chuck E Cheese ( I thought he may have outgrown that by now! What was I thinking my husband hasn't even outgrown it by now!) and then to Cold Stone! On Sunday we had a family get together with Pizza and Pizza Dessert and Ice Cream! It was WAY easier on us and still lots of fun!

Baby Food 101!

I have decided to try my hand at making homemade organic babyfood this time around (you know 8 and a 1/2 years later and all!)! I knew my food processor would get a lot of great use one day! I have been making butternut squash, peas, carrots, apples and potatoes. Desiree has also been making pears, zuchinni, and sweet potatoes so we share everthing and we have a very nice variety. Nathanael ABSOLUTELY loves his rice cereal and he loved the butternut squash, liked the carrots, liked the apples, didn't particularly care for the zuchinni and well....you let me know what you think about peas!

P.S. For baby food puree's I really love these two cookbooks...

Sing....sing a song...

I am happy to announce that Nathanael attended his very first music class with his cousin Aubrey on Saturday January 17th. They attend class from 12:00-12:45 and we sing songs, shake rattles and march around to..."The ants go marching one by one". Afterwards we always go to lunch in the cool UNM area and then run a couple of errands.

2009 off with a BANG!

Tummy Time!
Well...we have been bombarded by craziness in these couple of weeks of 2009. As many of you know, my step-dad Bob had a very scary past week. On Monday the 5th after a weekend of fever, chills, dehydration, etc. we finally called the ambulance to come and assess my very sick and weak step-dad. It was clearly evident from his 105 degree temperature, atrial fibrillation and chest x-rays that he had a bad case of pneumonia. Bob just celebrated his 75th birthday in May and in the 22+ years that I have known him he has never been very ill, much less in a hospital! It was very scary especially when there was talk of possibly having to put him on a ventilator once he got to ICU. Praise the Lord it never came to that and after a week of being in the hospital he is at home recovering with a very good nurse...my mom! Thank you all for your countless and continued prayers for Bob during this difficult time. His atrial fibrillation has totally cleared up and he went home last night only with a RX for antibiotics.
As far as the Moya family goes, it has been back to school for us. Last week was a very difficult week getting back into the swing of things with school especially with our family crisis! This week has been a bit better! We had our first field trip of the year today...The Museum of Natural History, it was a free day so we took full advantage! Jocelyn has been so happy with her new digital camera from Christmas and the photos I will be uploading are from her camera! Jacob has been wobbling around in a boot due to the fact that his growth plate is growing too fast and getting too much pressure, etc. on it and it is to "calm it down" according to the Dr. so his heel pain will go away. Nathanel had been growing by leaps and bounds. I have had to put away almost all of his 3 month old and 3-6 month old clothes..."sniff, sniff" He also has found his toes lately and loves playing with them!

Look Who's Eating Solids!

Good evening all!

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update...

Nathanael tried some rice cereal today! It was such an emotional experience...it is exciting because he is moving on to the next phase but it is sad because our little guy is growing so incredibly fast! I could not believe how ready my little man was for solids! He opened his mouth the first time and everytime after that the spoon came towards him and he did not tongue thrust once! He ate it all down like a champ!
